YOU'VE COMPLETED AN APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION!
NOW WHAT HAPPENS?

You've requested and received a degree plan, have taken the specific courses for that degree or are finishing those courses very soon and today, you've applied for graduation! We are eager to process your application!

Deadlines

Check the timeline here to be sure that you've met the appropriate deadline and that you understand when we will be processing your paperwork for graduation. As noted in the cover letter you received with your degree plan, as well as in the class schedule, the deadlines are as follows:

FALL - December 1......SPRING - May 1......SUMMER I - July 1...... SUMMER II - August 1

Updates and Status Letters

We begin to send updates and status letters after the official reporting date of each semester to each student who has applied for graduation for the “current semester”. We continue to do so until the deadline for that semester.

For example: If you have applied for graduation for the Fall semester, you will receive a status letter during this semester. However, if you have completed an application for graduation for the Spring semester during the Fall semester, you will not receive your status letter until after the official reporting date for the Spring semester. Updates may be requested at any time.

The status letters will indicate if you have met or will meet all requirements for graduation at the end of the current semester. If you have substituted courses for any degree plan requirement, it is your responsibility to make sure that we have a copy of the approved substitution with your file.

Final Processing

Final processing for graduation takes place within ten to twelve weeks after the close of each semester. This timeframe may vary due to holidays, campus closing or the short summer semesters.

Official transcripts are automatically sent to the address we have on file for you.

A post card will be sent to you when your diploma and/or certificate is ready for you to pick up. If you would like your diploma mailed, you must request this in writing and submit it with your application for graduation.

Reminders

It is very important that you complete the information indicating how you want your name “listed on your diploma”. This name must be the official name we have on file for you. PLEASE DO NOT ASK THAT WE USE ADDITIONAL TITLES, ETC. WHICH ARE NOT A PART OF YOUR LEGAL NAME.

It is very important that you list the specific degree you are requesting. Submitting incorrect information may result in late graduation.

You must complete a graduation application for each degree or certificate you are requesting.

PLEASE CHECK WITH OUR OFFICE FOR SPECIFIC DEADLINES YOU MUST MEET TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONY IN MAY!
