Martin, Eastfield Head Baseball Coach, has been named the
2006 American Baseball Coaches Association and Diamond Sports
Company National Coach of the Year for National Junior College
Athletic Association Division III baseball. He will be honored
at the ABCA Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet on January
5, 2007 in Orlando, Florida. |
Yesterday I received a call from Adam
Rivera, a Denton TBall coach, who asked to speak to Eastfield's
Athletic Director. He called to compliment our baseball coach,
Michael Martin.
A month ago Mr. Rivera and his TBall players were having lunch
in the same restaurant as EFC's baseball team. Mr. Rivera
asked Coach Martin if he would say hello to his young players.
Not only did Coach Martin speak to the Tball players, but
the entire EFC team joined him in giving "high-fives"
to them.
Mr. Rivera said it really meant a lot to his team, and he
wanted to let our Athletic Director know how much the behavior
of our coach and team was appreciated. |
