Fletcher Begins Second Year |
Anthony Fletcher
will begin his second season as Head Basketball Coach at Eastfield
College. Last year the Harvesters finished 14-17 overall. Even though
the Harvesters finished under .500 it was a good season. Fletcher

Wins 1st Two Games of the Season... |
The Eastfield Basketball team
opened the 2006-2007 with a win at home versus Abilene Christians
University JV. Red shirt Freshman transfer from McLennan Community
College Chris Cooper led the way scoring 25 points, five rebounds,
and five dunks.
Returner Terrance McCollister scored 21 points and had four rebounds.
Newcomer Greg Morgan scored 18 points and went 10 for 10 from the
free throw line. Captain Brian Giddings scored 14 points and grabbed
nine rebounds and Captain Greg Boxell scored 11 points and grabbed
10 rebounds and had four electrifying dunks.
Freshman Semar Farris also scored 11 points and had 9 steals in
his college debut. The basketball team would like to thank all of
the fans that attended the game. Your Harvesters will play their
second game this Monday night at 8:00 PM versus Southwest Adventist
University here at Eastfield College. |

University 90-52.
Eastfield will host Paul Quinn College on Wednesday the 8th.
Chris McGuire led team with 17 points going 5-6 from the 3 point
line. Brian Giddings scored 13 points, Greg Morgan chipped in 11
points, Greg Boxell and Chris Cooper had 10 points a piece. |

D1 Scholarship |
6'7 Guard Chris Cooper leaves
the Eastfield Basketball team to sign to play next season at Division
I, Nicholls State University in Louisiana. Cooper was the 3rd leading
scorer averaging 10 points per game when he departed. |

(Dec 14, 2006) The Harvesters
Basketball Team is ranked the "2nd
Best Team in the Nation" by the NJCAA National
Poll. The Harvesters are 10-3 with a .769 winning percentage. |

Sign On The Dotted Line |
(2007) Greg Boxell and Greg
Morgan became the third Harvesters to sign to a four year scholarship
this year. Greg Boxell signed with Lynn University
in Boca Raton, Florida. Greg Morgan a Freshman
signed with Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Earlier this year at the Christmas break Chris Cooper
signed and transferred to Nicholls State University in Thibodaux,
Louisiana. Additional signing information will be published once
the other student athletes sign on the dotted line.
Coach Fletcher stated " I am very happy for these young men.
All three of these young men have made themselves marketable and
recruitable. These young men have a bright future ahead of them
on and off the court." |

Players Sign and Moving On! |
(Aug 2007) Terrance
McCollister became the fourth Eastfield Harvester to sign
a Letter of Intent to play basketball at Mid-American Christian
University of the Sooner conference in Oklahoma. MACU is located
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Terrance finished the past season as
the third leading scorer on the team and also, won awards for Academic
player of the year, and Harvester award as well as third team all
conference honors in the Metro Athletic Conference.
Also, former player Justin Arrington will be joining
Prairie View A&M basketball team for the upcoming 2007-2008
season and Phillip Payton will be transfering to
Univ. of Texas at Arlington to study Business and computer technology.

the Food Drive for St. Luke's |
(2007) The Eastfield Basketball Team will be having a food drive
for the St. Luke United Methodist Church Bread Basket. If
anyone would like to join the basketball team and donate canned
food please stop by P-207 to drop off cans. Contact coach

(2006) Basketball Players Makes Guest
Appearance in 3 on 3 Hoop-It-Up |
Several
Eastfield basketball players made a guest appearance at the
Central Mesquite Assembly of God 3 on 3 Hoop-It-Up that was
hosted by Eastfield College on May 6th.
The players played a three on three game with themselves in
front of all the Hoop-It-Up teams and then played four on
four with the winner of the tournament. |

(2006) Two of Eastfield College's newest basketball players, Greg
Morgan and Kirsten Banks, and Head
Coach Anthony Fletcher took time out of their busy
schedules recently to visit Mackey Elementary School
(MISD) fifth graders. The two players talked to Ms.
Barnes' students about playing college basketball and read
them a few stories, before taking questions and even signing
