Abilene Christian University signs Cortnie Ross of Eastfield College
Ross, a high school teammate of current ACU Wildcat Norman Alexander at Dallas Kimball High School, is transferring to ACU from Eastfield College. The 6-3, 180-pound wing averaged 18 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.8 assists per game last year on his way to earning first team all-Metro Conference honors.
Ross is the younger brother of former SMU standout Quinton Ross, who has started 42 games for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA this season."Cortnie is a real high-energy guy who will get our team going," Coach Copeland said. "He can knock down an open jumper, and he can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. He'll be a really good player in the Lone Star Conference for two seasons.
