Eastfield College Diversity Speakers Series "Building Bridges Building Community"

(Mesquite, TX) –Eastfield College Diversity Speakers Series presents “Building Bridges Building Community” with Dr. Pamela Johnson on March 17, 2008, in Room S100. Dr. Johnson, author of “Everyone is Multicultural: Bridging Cultural Influences for Leadership Success,” will speak from 2 - 3:30 p.m.

Dr. Johnson has been in the learning process field for 20 years, specializing in leadership and coaching program development. Much of her work has been with meeting the organizational needs of Succession Planning, Leadership Development, Performance Coaching, and Multiculturalism.  She is also a trained and licensed professional in counseling and career development. As a private practitioner, Dr. Johnson has successfully facilitated individual, group and organizational consulting and coaching. As an educator, she is a university professor teaching master’s-level courses in leadership, counseling, career development, and human behavior. As a trainer and consultant, Dr. Johnson has worked with private and public organizations to help improve retention, enhance succession planning, increase managerial skills, and develop healthy work environments. She is also a certified Master Coach.  

“Everyone is Multicultural” is designed for individuals wanting to improve multicultural skill performance, relationships, and communication success. Adequate development of culturally skilled and sensitive individuals takes time, training, experience, and insight. Most attempts are a "quick fix" approach or the "cookie cutter" approach where everyone is treated the same.  Often there is no development at all and people easily revert to original way of thinking. The concepts in this workshop are designed to enhance the way one thinks and feels about cultural identity and diversity.
