Jason Terry to visit ECOP League at Eastfield College

(Mesquite, TX) – Dallas Mavericks’ Guard Jason “The Jet” Terry will be speaking at Eastfield’s Community Outreach Program (ECOP) on Tuesday, July 10 at 7 p.m. in the Eastfield College Gym (P Building).

Jason Terry’s Foundation is a sponsor of the ECOP basketball league, which started last year. The ECOP league regularly has more than 100 participants ages 16-28 and approximately 100 spectators cheering their favorite team to victory. Games, which are free to the community, are held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 7– 11 p.m. through August 1. 

The purpose of the program is to provide the Eastfield College community with an opportunity to participate in a college sponsored sporting event that promotes health and good citizenship. It’s purpose is also to help inner city youth and adults to get off the streets and make them a part of a program that can help them enroll in college, find a job, or earn their GED.
