Spring Job Fair at Eastfield College

(Mesquite, TX) – Eastfield College's Career Services Office co-sponsored its Spring Job Fair from on Thursday, April 3, in the Gym. The event was free and open to students of Eastfield College and the general public. Sponsors include Eastfield College Career Services, Eastfield College Student Programs & Resources, and the US Department of Education's Job Location and Development Program. Special employer sponsors include Allen Police Department, Bank of America, Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy, Employment News, Head Start of Greater Dallas, Napa Auto Parts, UPS and Volt Services.

There were 53 companies represented and 400 job seekers attended.

The sponsors' registration fees were used to fund several Career Development Scholarships and to help offset the expense of the job fair. Winner of the scholarships, which must be used within one year at Eastfield College, are Kristina Ball of Terrell; Trang Neimetz of Mesquite; Homero Arriaga, Nelly Cuenca, Tariku Chikssa and Ernesto Avila, all from Dallas.
