(Mesquite, TX) – To kick off the first season of theatre in over six years, Eastfield College’s Harvester Theatre Company is performing a full-length stage version of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol,” which runs November 30- December 4 in the Performance Hall at Eastfield College. The production will take place in the Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. (Matinees at 12:15 p.m. on December 3 & 1 p.m. on December 4) and includes a cast of students, staff and faculty, and community members from Mesquite.
Directed by Lori Honeycutt, Carol is collaboration from the departments of music, theater and dance at Eastfield, starting an annual Christmas production Eastfield and the surrounding community can enjoy.
“I wanted to start an annual event for the students, alums, staff, faculty, administration and the community can rely on every year,” Reasons said. “We are trying to build a recognizable theater program at Eastfield; several theaters produce ‘A Christmas Carol’ during the holiday season, and never have trouble filling seats. It is a show many people know and love.”
The goal, according to Reasons, is to do a different holiday-themed show every December. The 2010 production, however, will be the traditional “A Christmas Carol.” “This is something new and fun, yet with classic roots,” Reasons said.
Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are encouraged, but not required. To reserve tickets, email the box office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students attending Eastfield can now earn an Associate of Arts with emphasis in Theater. For more information on Eastfield Theater contact Dustina Reasons, Theatre Program Coordinator, at 972-860-7653 or email@example.com.
