This course provides a step by step explanation of the hiring process from the use of recruiting sources to the orientation of new hires. Topics include organizational culture, interviewing questions and techniques, and current trends in the industry. |
Students will gain an understanding of the nature of conflict and conflict intervention techniques, including negotiation and mediation. |

Topics include core values, stress indicators, leadership and communication styles, characteristic strengths and weaknesses, and approaches to managing change. |
Career Development Theories and Practices This course will provide the student with knowledge and skills to obtain and maintain a job. Topics to include are career and personality assessments, interviewing techniques, resume writing, salary negotiations, working with community agencies, and developing a career portfolio. |

and Effective Presentation Skills Students learn how to prepare and deliver all kinds of oral presentations. It covers the five elements of the speech process: research, organization, text, graphics, and delivery.

This course provides an overview of workplace diversity to include gender, cultural background, age, and other factors. Topics include behavioral expectations and standards in today's workplace. |
Students learn how to go about motivating, appraising, and building relationships with those they supervise. Topics include creating the working climate, making quality decisions, handling a wide variety of human problems, managing time, setting priorities, molding employees into teams, using leadership in supervisory styles. |
This course is designed to provide new training professionals with modern applications in training. Topics include history of training and development, resources to finding training materials and information, training theories, training associations, and human resources issues. |
Students learn to develop a mastery of language skills and written communications. Students are encouraged to develop their critical thinking, decision-, making, and problem-solving skills. |
Overview of concepts and skills of leadership in the work setting; introduces the nature of leadership; situational theory, styles, and the evaluation of leadership performance. |
