Parent registration/Orientation meeting required prior to registration. For all children under the age of 18, parents must complete a DCCCD Minor Student Emergency Health Release form before the class begins. Pick up form in the Continuing Education office during regular business hours. For students under the age of 15, a parent needs to sign student in and out of every class session.
Parent Homeschool Resources - EDUZ 1000 $50.00
Parents, are you considering Homeschooling? Are you looking for more support and curriculum resources or different teaching methods? Come to a special parents’ course where we will discuss and share: philosophy of home education, Texas and national laws, homeschool parent support groups, how children learn, learning styles, curriculum resources and teaching methods for specific subjects to facilitate your children’s learning. The facilitator Lisa Coleman is a certified teacher as well as homeschool parent and consultant to other homeschoolers.

English Literature for Teens - ENGZ 1000 $130.00
Prerequisites: Composition writing and research skills
Students will sample a wide variety of English authors while exploring the history, themes, and readings related to the English Experience. Students will explore significant pieces of literature, discovering how historical and cultural influences affect the literature. Students will read, participate in literature circles, and have fun, interactive assignments. Come be a part of the fun as literature creatively comes alive!

Writing, Grammar & Speech - DWRZ 1000 $130.00

Research Skills - CRWZ 1000 $130.00
Prerequisites: 9th grade or above
This course is designed to teach students the “ins and outs” of the research process. It will begin with the selection of the topic, then move on to narrowing, note taking, library research, organizing information, drafting, and revising to produce a final product. The students will be guided throughout the entire process and graded along the way. The class will culminate in a typed, fully documented paper with internal notes and a bibliography. Supplies: lined 3x5 cards, pen/pencils, notebook or spiral, r/w CD, and a copy of the textbook.
