ST IN DESIGN AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION
Identifies current skills and knowledge associated with the Digital Camera. A basic introduction to the camera operation students will learn file formats for digital images, proper techniques while using digital cameras and current software for manipulating digital images. No prerequisites. No equipment necessary. Students may bring their own digital camera including all relative hardware and software.

ARTC 1325: Intro Comp Graph - ARTC 1025 $117.00
INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER GRAPHICS
A survey of computer design concepts, terminology, processes, and procedures. Topics include computer graphics hardware, electronic images, electronic publishing, vector-based graphics, and interactive multimedia. Define computer terminology; identify peripherals; and demonstrate page layout, multimedia, and peripherals software use. Beginning course in Digital Imaging Technology.
ARTC 1302: Digital Imaging I - ARTC 1002 $117.00
DIGITAL IMAGING I
Prerequisites: Intro to Graphic Arts GRPH 1305 or equivalent knowledge.
Concurrent with ARTC 1302. Digital imaging using raster image editing and/or image creation software: scanning, resolution, file formats, output devices, color systems, and image-acquisitions. Student will identify terminology, advantages and limitations of image editing software; distinguish bit-mapped resolutions for image acquisitions and output devices; use digital editing and painting tools; use basic half-tone theory in production of images, manipulate, create, and edit digital images for print and for web; specify appropriate file formats.

PHTC 1300: Digital Photo I - PHTC 1000 $117.00
PHOTO DIGITAL IMAGING I
Concurrent with PHTC 1300. Covers instruction in the computer as an electronic darkroom. Topics include color and gray scale images and image conversion and presentation. Student will produce examples of photographic retouching, color corrections, copy, and photographic restoration; explain the hardware and software used in electronic photography; produce an electronic presentation of photographs.
