Congratulations on your approaching graduation from Eastfield College! Please review this page for information regarding the Commencement Ceremony, Diplomas, Certificates and Graduation.
ANNUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY
The May 2014 ceremony will honor Fall 2013, Spring 2014 and Summer 2014 graduates. No ceremonies are held at the end of the fall or summer semesters. Students with nine (9) hours or less remaining toward completion after the spring semester and who anticipate completing degrees or certificates in the summer are eligible and encouraged to attend the May ceremony. Ceremony attendance is optional, and graduates who wish to attend must confirm their participation in addition to completing the graduation application.
DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES
Diplomas and certificates are awarded three times a year; at the end of the fall semester, spring semester (which includes winter term classes) and summer semester (which includes may term classes). Once you have been certified as a graduate you will receive an email congratulating you on your accomplishments and informing you on how to request a diploma and/or certificate(s). Please note that graduates are not certified until final grades have posted at the end of each semester. As a result, it will take several weeks after a semester ends to process all of the applications. Eastfield College may graduate students who have met graduation requirements with or without the student’s permission. This also includes former students.
(EFFECTIVE SPRING 2013)
Students should apply for graduation at the beginning of the term/semester in which they intend to graduate. Eligible applicants are those students who have met all TSI requirements, degree/certificate and graduation requirements or have those requirements currently in progress. Eligible students will be awarded their degree or certificate of completion at the end of the appropriate term. Graduation applications are to be filed online by the District submission deadline. All applicants who miss the current semester deadline will be asked to apply for graduation the following semester. 2013-2014 graduation application timelines and deadlines are:
|Term||Application Timeline and Deadline|
|Fall||September 9, 2013-October 15, 2013|
|Spring||February 4, 2014-March 15, 2014|
|Summer||May 19, 2014-July 15, 2014|
Each college may graduate current and former students who have met graduation requirements with or without student’s permission.
This provision applies to certificates, reverse transfers, associate degrees, associates of applied sciences degrees, advanced technical certificates and enhanced skills certificates. In addition to other graduation requirements (detailed in each individual degree plan), you must complete within five (5) years the course requirements for your degree or certificate as outlined in the catalog in effect at the time of your entrance to the college. You may have the option to select a more recent catalog year, provided the required courses are still offered and the degree/certificate requirements are met within five (5) years of the catalog year selected.
Twenty-five percent (25%) of the total credit hours for your degree/certificate must be completed at the college awarding the degree/certificate.
To qualify for a second degree or certificate, you must fulfill the twenty-five percent (25%) residence requirement and must complete all required courses in the curriculum plan for the second degree or certificate.
The college reserves the right to modify or make changes in degree or certificate curricula as appropriate. You, the student, have the ultimate responsibility to select and register for courses to complete your degree or certificate and meeting graduation requirements.
