What are the benefits in being an "officially recognized" Eastfield College Student Organization?
Step One:
Start talking to fellow students about your ideas, interests and goals. Ask the SPAR Office Staff for a table in the Pit to "recruit" new students to your club. Come up with a great name for your club.
Step Two:
Now that you've got some people together, complete the "Petition for Recognition Form." This form must be signed by at least 10 students who are either interested in being a member of your club or who support your goal to become a club.
Step Three:
It is your responsibility to find an Eastfield College staff member to serve as your "Club Advisor." Your Club Advisor will serve as a mentor to your group, attend your club meetings, assist your with your club activities and provide advice concerning campus policies and resources. Advisors can be faculty members, any staff member or administrator. Make a list of those you'd like to ask to serve as your advisor. You can have more than one. Call them and make an appointment to discuss your club and your wish that they assist you. When an advisor has been selected, ask them to sign your Petition for Recognition Form.
Step Four:
Turn your Petition for Recognition Form in to the SPAR Office. A SPAR Staff member will be assigned to serve as your "SPAR Liaison." Your SPAR Liaison will schedule a time to host a "Club Orientation" for your club members and your Club Advisor to go over the Club Handbook and answer any questions you may have concerning DCCCD Policies and Procedures.
Step Five:
Have fun! Host meetings whenever you want. Plan parties, campus events, or community service projects. Get involved in campus life.
