Officially Recognized Clubs and Organizations
2007 - 2008

Student clubs allow individuals to discover and pursue special interests, abilities and skills, and to assume leadership roles in the community. Students interested in joining a student club or forming a new one should contact either the club advisor listed or the Student Programs & Resources (SPAR) office. The SPAR office is located in Room C-141, first floor of the campus center building, and can be reached at 972-860-7185. All student clubs must be recognized by the SPAR Office.

Anime Society

Purpose: To promote Asian Culture through animation, music and games.

Advisor: Joel Jessen 972-860-7692.

Autobody Technology Club

Purpose: The purpose of this club is to share information and interest in automobile finishing. Students need to be enrolled in autobody courses.

Automotive Club

Purpose: To share information and interest in automobiles.

Baptist Student Ministry (BSM)

Purpose: To give students an opportunity for social activities and individual and group Bible studies.

Baseball Booster Club

Purpose : To promote the advancement of the Baseball program and its facilities.

Advisor: Michael Martin 972-860-7643.

Blue Dragon Guild

Purpose:  To provide a place for role players to gather and game with similarly interested people.

Advisor:  Bob Whisnant 972-860-7134.

Business Information Systems Club

Purpose: To assist students with the practice of leadership skills through particpation in professional workshops, seminars, etc. to promote teamwork, diversity and networking among students.

Chess Club

Purpose:  To learn and excel in the intellectual game of Chess, to develop the quality of thinking outside the box and achieve mental brilliance.

Clay Guild

Purpose: To amplify the ceramic program goals by the addition of visiting ceramic artists, workshops and demonstrations.

Communications Club

Purpose: To help students further develop speech communication skills by participating in professional workshops and events.

Council of Latin America Students (CLAS)

Purpose: To promote the Latino culture, heritage and to create a strong diverse group at Eastfield College and surrounding community.

Digital Imaging Club

Purpose: To promote and have students gain practical experience in the field of Digital Imaging.

Eastfield Alliance for Social Tolerance (EAST)

Purpose: To provide an understanding of social tolerance by promoting service and social interaction to help educate others.

ETeKK (Karate)

Purpose:  To learn Kenpo Karate and through it strengthen character and self-esteem.

Guitar Studies Club

Purpose: To provide students with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and appreciation of the classic guitar and its repertoire.

Human Services Honor Club

Purpose: To promote high ideals and advances in excellence in the field of human services.

International Club

Purpose:  To promote cultural awareness and gain a better understanding of cultural diversity.

International Food

Purpose:  To foster and promote cultural awareness, socialization, and creativity through the art of cooking.

Joga Bonito Soccer

Purpose:  To raise funds for the men’s soccer team and become an official soccer team for Eastfield.

Journalism Club

Purpose: To expose and give access to different aspects in journalism.

Latter-Day Saints Student Association (LDSSA)

Purpose: To learn about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while participating in activities and community service.

L’Chaim

Purpose:  To get a better understanding of the Jewish people & their culture.  To explore their different customs, foods, music and dance.

Math Club

Purpose : To expose students to the field and opportunities of Math.

Philosophy Club

Purpose: To provide students the opportunity to discuss philosophical issues and explore applications in today’s society.

Purpose: To recognize and encourage scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service among students.

Piano Club

Purpose: To provide a culture of piano awareness, appreciation, and performance among Eastfield students.

Positive Connection

Purpose: To motivate, encourage and influence today’s youth to make a positive impact on today’s world.

Purpose: To acclimate students to college life, provide mentorship to area middle schools and provide socialization outside of Eastfield.

Rodeo Club

Purpose: To promote the sport of rodeo and horseback riding through observation, participation, and/or competition.

Runway Style Agency

Purpose:  To give students an insight into what it takes to put a runway show together and learn more about fashion design.

Salsa Club

Purpose:  To learn how to Salsa Dance and to make new friends.

Science Club

Purpose: To foster scholastic excellence and leadership in the
health field and to improve health care worldwide.

Sigma Kappa Delta (SKD)

Purpose: To provide cultural stimulation and promote interest in English on Eastfield College's campus and in the community we serve: to foster students' understanding of language and literature and to award outstanding achievement

Tennis Club

Purpose:  To support the tennis team in programs and fundraising endeavors.

Purpose: To organize student artists and extend their art education experiences beyond the studio classroom.

Vegetarians’ Club

Purpose:  To promote a better understanding of vegetarianism and show its benefits.

Warriors of Worship (W.O.W)

Purpose: Prayer group and prayer meeting with bible study, outreach and music of song of praise.

The Write Spot

Purpose:  To promote an interest in more styles of writing and to bring together people of different backgrounds, to share experiences through their passion for writing.

Yoga Club

Purpose: To provide opportunities for students to learn and practice Yoga.
