  Application Packet – Spring 2010

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATION:
Feb. 10, 2010

Read and complete the required information detailed in the application packet.  All applications are due in the Office of Student Life by February 10, 2010 at 4:00pm.  

Two member positions are open in SGA.  In accordance with the Student Government Association By-Laws, Section V, vacant positions are filled by an application process.   Applicants must meet all criteria and turn in a completed application.   Vacant positions are filled by qualified applicants based on a “first to qualify” process.   The first 2 qualified applicants will be accepted to serve in the 2 vacant positions.

Application

The Student Government Association serves as the representative body for enrolled credit students at Eastfield College.  Applicants MUST complete ALL of the following criteria in order to meet eligibility requirements.  Completed application packets are due in the Office of Student Life.

Sixteen students serve on the Student Government.  All applicants must meet all eligibility requirements in order to qualify.    If more than sixteen qualified applicants apply, a campus-wide election of currently enrolled credit students will take place.    If no more than sixteen qualified applicants apply, those qualified applicants will serve by automatic acceptance.  This is the designated process specified in the “Eastfield College Student Government Association Constitution.”

Required Information:   (all information MUST be attached)

  1. Proof of current credit enrollment at Eastfield, taking a minimum of 6.0 credit hours per semester. (registration sheet)
  2. Transcript from a former college, high school or university.  A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required.
  3. A current Eastfield College credit class paid “fee receipt”.
  4. Completed attached “Application Form”.
  5. Completed attached “Nomination Form”.

Note:  Student Government representatives MUST be able to attend regular meetings, scheduled two Fridays of each month at 12:30pm.   Most meetings last 2-3 hours.  Student Government representatives MUST be able to devote time each week to fulfill obligations required in order to serve as a representative of the Eastfield College Student Government Association.  This includes committee meetings and other campus commitments.
