What is the Student Government?
The Student Government is a student body government that represents the interests and needs of the students while facilitating as on going dialog with school administration on behalf of the student body.

Who are the members of the Student Government?
The Student Government members are your fellow students at Eastfield College.

How many positions are available on the Student Government?
There are 16 Student Government seats available. Their Liaison is the director of Student Programs and Resources.

How long is a term on the Student Government?
Generally a term runs from fall semester through the spring semester. But a member can resign or be removed from office before the end of their term has been served.

What are the duties of a member of the Student Government?
The duties are attending regular monthly meetings, serving on committees, acting as a representative for Eastfield, handling issues voiced by the student body, and various other tasks that may occur during a term in office.

What are the benefits of serving on the Student Government?
There are many opportunities fro volunteer work, leadership training/improvement, representing the college in an official capacity, and it looks great on a resume.

How do I apply to become a member of the Student Government?
Contact the SPAR office and ask for an application.

How can I have my voice heard even if I choose to not join the Student Government? There is a box located in the 'PIT' along the south wall by the bulletin boards. It is provided for students to voice their opinions.
