How to Enroll in Service Learning
- Ask your instructor if he or she offers Service Learning, and what kind of credit you can earn for it in your class. Find out if he or she has any special requirements about where you may serve or the number of hours required in order to meet the class’s learning goal (normally, it’s 15 hours).
- Email me (Michele Svatos, the EFC Service Learning coordinator) at msvatos@dcccd.edu or michsvatos@gmail.com and give me your name and student ID number. It’s also helpful to know which classes you’re interested in doing Service Learning for (including who teaches the classes). Don’t forget to tell me your student ID!
- I will add you to the EFC Service Learning eCampus site, give you instructions for logging into eCampus and finding the site, and give you instructions for enrolling online by replying to your email.
- Once you have access to the EFC site, you will have access to more information about where you can serve and how all this works. You will also have access to blank timesheets that you can print and bring with you when you volunteer; you’ll need to turn those in to me at the end of the semester to document your volunteer work.
- Paper application forms (such as those on the DCCCD website) are not accepted; you must enroll via eCampus using the instructions I’ll provide.
