How to Enroll in Service Learning

How do I get to the Service Learning page on eCampus?

Log onto eCampus:

1. Go to http://ecampus.dcccd.edu/
2. Click to access current semester eCampus classes.  If you have trouble, call tech support at 972-669-6402 (need pop up blockers turned off)
3. Your username is a small e plus your student ID number, e.g. e211111.
4. If you have never logged into eCampus before, your password is the same as your username (not the same as eConnect).

Once you are logged into eCampus:

1. Along the top there are 6 blue tabs.  The 1st says “My DCCCD”, the 2nd says “Courses” and the 3rd says “Community.”  Click on the Community tab.
2. Once you are in the Community tab, on the left side of your screen there is an Organization Search box.  Type in the word service and hit Go.
3. In the middle of the search results, you should see EFC Service Learning.  On the far right, there is a small rectangular box that says Enroll.  Click on the word Enroll.
4. This will bring up the Self Enrollment screen.  Click Submit, and then click OK to continue.  Congratulations, you are enrolled in the Eastfield College Service Learning website!  However, you still have to fill out the application.
5. From now on, EFC Service Learning will show up automatically when you log into eCampus, as an Organization below your list of classes.  Or, you can click on the Community tab and it will show up there for you automatically.

Once you are in the EFC Service Learning online “classroom”:

1. There are yellow buttons to your left.  You can read “Start here.”
2. You can click on the SL Opportunities button to find the Service Learning newspaper as a PDF file, or to find other opportunities that aren’t listed in the newspaper but are pre-approved.
3. Once you have chosen a location to volunteer, gather all your information and click on the Application for SL button.  Once you click on that button, the top item will be the “survey” that you take to apply.  Click on the underlined link, then click OK to begin. 
4. Fill out the information for the application.  If you don’t have all the information you need to finish it, you can click “save” for the answers you’re finished with, and resume it later.  If you are doing Service Learning for 2 classes, you don’t need to complete the application twice; there is a place to indicate more than 1 class.
5. Once you have submitted your application, you can click on the yellow Timesheets button to print out a timesheet to take each time you volunteer.
6. At the end of the semester, there will be a Reflections Survey that you are required to fill out through the website.
7. Before you leave the site, please click on the blue My DCCCD tab on the top left.  See where it says “Welcome, _________”?  Below that, the bottom item is Personal Information.  Click on that, and then click Edit Personal Information.  Verify that your correct email address is listed there, so that I will be able to communicate with you.  You can also click on Change Password to change your password.
