Eastfield College South Campus Sign Unveiling

Members of the board of trustees for the Dallas County Community College District, along with area officials and community representatives, attended a special ceremony on Thurs., February 16, to mark the future location of a new education campus for Pleasant Grove.

The sign unveiling gave DCCCD administrators - including Dr. Jesus “Jess” Carreon, the district’s chancellor; Jerry Prater, chair of DCCCD’s board of trustees; and the new president of Eastfield College, Carol Brown - an opportunity to share their vision for the facility, which represents one of five new community campuses that will provide easier access to higher education for either underserved or fast-growing populations in Dallas County.

DCCCD trustees unanimously approved the purchase of 10.5 acres in Pleasant Grove late last year.  The facility - which will be named the Eastfield College-South Campus - is funded by DCCCD’s current bond program.  The property is located near 802 S. Buckner Blvd.  DCCCD will develop plans and construct the facility on the property within the next 24 to 36 months.
