Join us for this week long workshop series tailor made and custom designed for highly motivated developmental education students

Writing on the 8s                        Monday, Nov. 11           11:15am – 12:10pm, G101

In this 55 minute session, students will engage in interactive learning through an intensive series of 8 minute circuits aimed to sharpen and emphasize critical skills and learning outcomes needed to succeed in DWRI courses. Light snacks and prizes for students provided!

Faculty Mixer                       Tues & Wed, Nov. 12-13     11:00am – 1:00pm, The PIT

Come mingle with the faculty of College Readiness and Mathematics at this exclusive meet and greet for students and professors. This event will help students discover teaching styles as they forecast their schedules for the spring 2014 semester.  Students can also learn about new courses and acceleration opportunities in developmental education. Snacks and giveaways provided.

Find Your PACE                                    Thursday, Nov. 14            9:30am – 10:50am, G101

In this 80 minute session, developmental education students will talk strategy as they take a deeper look into the various pathways that are available to them as they navigate through the DE sequence and into college credit coursework. Both traditional and non-traditional courses will be overviewed, helping students determine what their individual PACE towards graduation should be after considering factors such as motivation and time.  Light snacks and prizes for students are provided.

Through the Looking Glass       Thursday, Nov. 14                   11:00am – 12:20pm, G101

In this 80 minute session, students will participate in an active reading session as they review critical skills and learning outcomes needed to succeed in developmental reading with an emphasis on finding the main idea. Light snacks and prizes for students included.

EFC Math Games                           Friday, Nov. 15            9:05am – 12:10pm, G101

Find your inner MATHLETE during this 3 hour open funhouse where games centered on concepts in mathematics will be showcased. By mastering math skills through interactive games, students can earn tickets to purchase prizes, including a TI-83 Graphing Calculator worth over $100! Information on math pathways will also be provided by EFC advisors. Light snacks and giveaways provided.
