EASTFIELD COLLEGE - COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Cooperative Education Information
WHAT IS CO-OP?
Co-op courses are electives within the CIS curriculum and are open to CIS students who have completed a CIS course and are planning to major in one of the CIS degree programs. CIS students can get credit for on-the-job experience for computer related jobs they already have, or for on-the-job opportunities which come available from time-to-time on campus. Co-op courses provide CIS students with a way to get valuable work experience, bridging the gap between academic training and real-world experience required by future employers
WHAT
KINDS OF JOBS QUALIFY AS CO-OP EXPERIENCE?
You already
work in a computer related job, fulltime or part-time: Your job qualifies
you for CIS Co-op. The Co-op experience provides a way for you to acquire new
job related skills during your regular work hours, and helps you achieve higher
visibility within your company.
You are not already employed in a computer related job: If you desire computer work experience and are willing to volunteer your time here on campus, we may have non-paying jobs in various departments at Eastfield. The job could be installing computer equipment, assisting technical support with the LAN and troubleshooting computers, writing software applications, or assisting students to use the computer systems here. We also have coop positions in the Web Page development area.
