(Mesquite, TX) – Dallas County Community College District Chancellor Dr. Wright Lassiter and Trustee Martha Sanchez Metzger joined Eastfield College staff, students and community leaders in breaking ground for the Learning Studios Building on September 25.

This new facility will have innovative learning spaces located throughout the building that will facilitate student learning by student to student interaction and faculty to student relationships. Designed by HKS, Inc. Architects, the planned opening date for the Learning Studios Building is fall 2008. Representatives from HKS Architects and Rogers-O'Brien Construction also joined President Carol Brown for the ceremony.
Eastfield is in the midst of a large capital building program that will result in the ultimate construction of four major educational/learning facilities on the campus. In addition to these on-campus facilities, Eastfield will be responsible for the design, construction and servicing of the South Campus located in Pleasant Grove.
