The Accounting Technician certificate program is designed for people who wish to enter the field of accounting. The curriculum covers computer applications with an emphasis on the computerized accounting package Quick Books Pro for Accounting. This 172 hours of classroom training is designed for administrative assistants, secretaries, and clerks in the fields of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Ten Key by Touch
Learn to use an electronic calculator through the ten key by touch method.
Bookkeeping 1
This course covers the basic principles of double entry bookkeeping as applied to a single proprietorship or a partnership. Topics include debit and credit entries, journals, ledgers, and preparation of financial statements. The focus will be on analyzing, classifying, and recording business transactions. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of the complete accounting cycle and preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Bookkeeping

Topics covered will include specialized
journals, uncollectible accounts, notes payable and receivable, inventory, and
accrued revenue and expenses as they relate to a corporation.
Beginning Accounting
This course focuses on fundamental accounting concepts
and their application in transaction analysis and financial statement preparation
including analysis of financial statements for proprietorships, partnerships,
and corporations.
QuickBooks 1
In
this course students will create a QuickBook company, add and edit information
in company lists, modify one of QuickBooks' preset charts of accounts, customize
QuickBooks' forms, create customer invoices, receive payments from customers
and make bank deposits, write QuickBooks checks, assign the amount to a specific
expense or bank account, enter bills into QuickBooks' accounts payable and pay
bills.
QuickBooks 2
Topics included are: assign reimbursable expenses to customers, open and use registers for any of QuickBooks' balance sheet accounts, reconcile a QuickBooks checking account, track credit card transactions, work with QuickBooks' asset and liability accounts, create and customize QuickBooks reports and graphs, track & pay sales tax, manage inventory, and run payroll with QuickBooks.

Advanced course that will further the student's knowledge of QuickBooks.
