The Eastfield Classroom Renovation Committee was formed to provide direction to the renovation of Eastfield classrooms. The Committee members are Vivian Dennis-Monzingo, Eric Aurand, Christina Fox-Bali, Jerry Henson, Jack Thiehoff, Lucinda Gonzales, Lenny King, and John Criswell, Chair.
Purpose: Renovation of all EFC Classrooms
The renovation of EFC classrooms will start with core classrooms as identified by the Committee. The Committee is to develop a set of standards for classroom renovation and make renovation recommendations by classroom to the Vice President of Business Services.
Funding:
There will be funding available from Carol Brown for classroom renovation to be identified and spent by the end of February, 2007. This date may be extended.
Scope:
The scope includes access to the room to wall coverings, window treatment, color, furniture, lighting, professor workstation, media and technology.
Initial Plan:
Core classrooms are being identified for renovation. A survey for Faculty and a survey for students will be available for your input within the next week. Prototype classrooms will be identified and renovation activities will commence during Maymester and Summer 2. These classrooms will be those identified as being the “easiest’ to renovate, because of timing. Larger classrooms (C295, C297, C335, etc.) will be scheduled for a later timeframe as more extensive work will be needed.
Feedback and review will be sought and welcomed as these classrooms are placed back into the regular schedule. Adjustments will be scheduled as necessary.
Summary:
Please contact anyone on the Eastfield Classroom Renovation Committee if you have comments or suggestions. Your input is valuable to us.
Thanks,
John Criswell
Dean of Education & Administrative Technology
