Mission Statement
The mission of Eastfield College is to provide educational opportunities through
high-quality instruction, services and programs in an environment conducive
to student success in academic, technical, occupational, and continuing education.
Our purpose is to develop responsible citizenship, to value diversity and cultural
enrichment, and to be accountable and adaptable.
Goals
Eastfield College will:
- Provide access for all students & help them achieve their educational
goals by offering a broad range of instructional & student support services
including counseling & guidance.
- Assist students in obtaining freshman- & sophomore-level knowledge &
skills leading to employment, and/or an associate degree and/or prepare them
for transfer to baccalaureate degree- granting institutions.
- Assist students in obtaining knowledge, skills, & services necessary
to obtain a certificate and/or applied associate degree & to succeed in
technical-occupational careers.
- Provide literacy, developmental education, & English for Speakers of
Other Languages programs to prepare students to participate successfully in
further academic & Career opportunities.
- Assist students seeking training for advancement in their current field,
training for entry-level job skills, retraining for employment or personal
enrichment through comprehensive continuing education & workforce training.
- Develop education partnerships with business, industry, government entities,
& civic organizations to enhance economic development.
- Provide all students with personal, social, & cultural enrichment opportunities
& encourage them to exercise their rights & responsibilities as citizens.
- Employ a qualified, diverse staff & provide opportunities for professional
development for staff members to enhance their skills & abilities.
- Continuously study, analyze, & appraise the college's purposes, procedures,
programs & organization to enhance institutional effectiveness.
