Haber

Haber - when expressing existence:  Has only singlular form when used to express existence.

Hay There is or there are  (There is one book/ there are two books)
Hubo/había There was or there were (Ayer hubo un terremoto.  Después el terremoto había problemas.)
Va a haber  There is or there are going to be.  (Mañana va a haber una conferencia.)
Tiene que haber There has to be or have to be.  (Tiene que haber una buena medicina para esto.)
Cuando haya There might be  (Llámeme cuando haya una coche disponible)  Call me when there may (or might) be a car available.)

 

Ponerse  - Use with most adjectives – triste, furioso, nervioso, conetnto, serio, molesto, happy
Ponerse = me puse, te pusiste, se puso, nos ponemos, se pusieron
  Me puse muy contenta cuando leí tu carta.  I became very happy when I read your letter.
Hacerse – Use with adjectives such as rico, bueno, malo; all professions (abogado); religions and political affiliations.
Hacer =  hice,  hiciste, hizo,  hicimos,  hicieron
  Adela estudió mucho y se hizo profesora en tres años.  Adela studied a lot and became a professor in three years.
Volverse – Use with   - loco, desobediente, antipático
Volver = volví,  volviste, volvió, volvimos,  volvieron
  Alberto va volverse loco con todo el trabajo que tiene.  Alberto is going to go crazy with all the work that he has.
