Login Screens

Eastfield College Instructional Computing Login Screen:

This is the first screen students see on the instructional computers. On the line asking for the Username, type in your Student ID number; it’s seven digits. On the line asking for Password, type in your last name. It is not case specific, so it doesn’t matter if you use capitals. This process will log you onto the computer.

For example:
Username: 1234567
Password: Smith

This will get you to the main desktop on which you will see icons for the frequently used programs. Don’t forget to log out when you are finished using the computer (see explanation below).

PLATO:

To get to PLATO, either double click on the PLATO icon, which looks like a stone-grey head, or left click and hit enter. The login screen will ask you to Enter your PLATO name. Here you must type your first name, a space, and your last name with the initials capitalized. This login screen is case specific, so if the initials are not capitalized, the program will not let you log in. After you type your name, either use the mouse to move the cursor over the Continue button and click it or strike the Enter key on the keyboard.

For example:
Enter your PLATO name:
Phyllis Jones

If it asks for a Password, you have typed in your name incorrectly. Check the spelling and capitalization or retype your name.

When you are finished with PLATO, either click on the little icon that looks like a door with the word Exit that is located on the top menu bar, click on the box with the X located in the upper right corner, or go to File on the menu bar and click on Exit. This will get you back to the PLATO login screen. Please make sure to click on the box in the lower right corner that says Exit. This will get you to the blue desktop screen. Make sure to LogOut (see explanation below).

Instructional Math/ Academic Systems:

To get to the Instructional Math login screen, double click on the icon that is a red square with the white letters IM. On the first screen, you are asked to Select your school. Click on the button with the arrow located on the right of this request box. Use the down arrow to scroll down to locate Eastfield College (ESTF). Just under this box, click on Student.

The screen will update and ask (in red letters) Are you ready to Do a Lesson? or Would you like to Check your Progress? There are also additional resources listed below. Click on the appropriate area by using the mouse to move the cursor.

The Academic Systems login screen will appear. On the line asking for Log-on Name, type in first initial and last name. On the line asking for Password, type in your ID number. It is not case specific, so it doesn’t matter if anything is capitalized.

For example:
Log-on Name: asmith
Password: 1234567

Make sure to close the program when you are finished by going to the upper left corner of the screen and clicking on File and then Exit. Please make sure to log off the computer.

eCampus:

To access eCampus, you must first establish an Internet connection. If you are doing this from a computer on the Eastfield College campus, after the initial login screen, look for the blue e—Internet Explorer. Double click this icon to log onto the Internet.

Once on the Internet, pull up the eCampus website for Eastfield College: http://ecampus.dcccd.edu.
There are two ways to get to the login screen. In the middle column, one box header states Login here. Click on this link to get the login screen. Also, at the top of the page, you can click on Login, located next to Home and Help. This way will also get you to the login screen.

On the line asking for the Username, type in the letter e and then your Student ID number. On the line asking for Password, again type in the letter e and then your Student ID number.

For example:
Username: e1234567
Password: e1234567

When you are finished with the program, click on the box with the X located in the upper right corner. Please make sure to log off the computer.

Log Off the computer:

Regardless of the program used on the computer, please make sure to log off completely. Otherwise, you are still logged on to that computer. If you are logged onto one computer, another computer on campus will not allow you to log on and have more than one computer running simultaneously with your ID number.

After closing any programs you used, you should be looking at the main desktop with all the icons. Look for the orange and brown Eastfield College logo with LogOut written beneath the logo. Simply double click the logo or single click it and hit the Enter button on the keyboard. Another way is to go to the bottom left corner of the menu bar and click on the Start button. You can then click on the key image that states Log Off and your name.

If you have problems, contact a staff member. Staff can assist with many problems; however, computer technical support staff or your instructor may need to be contacted for further assistance.
