Owens' addition a political play

NFL's best wide receiver, Terrell Owens, or TO, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles, has officially joined the Cowboys with a contract of $10 million a year for the next three years.

I know what everyone is thinking. Half say that was stupid because the Cowboys already have enough problems, while others say that he is going to help us win a Super Bowl. But no one is looking at the bigger picture.

Why would anyone grab a player that has a bad attitude?

Politics: the game that really makes America run.

Jerry Jones brought TO for one reason so the Cowboy stadium in Arlington can succeed. If a team is winning, then the fans feel obligated to build a new $650-million-dollar stadium.

Don't get me wrong, building a new stadium is okay, but deceiving people is not the way to do it. Why not come out and say I want $650 million dollars instead of using politics to try to make people feel like they have to do it.

The other side of the coin is that TO is known for his attitude, but what does a boy need with $10 million dollars a year?

Also there is TO's attitude problem. Maybe TO has had a bad childhood and now wants to make everyone pay or maybe he just likes the attention.

If this happens Jerry Jones can release him sooner, because of the contract clauses, and save cap room for someone else. Jerry Jones must want this to happen, because if he breaks his contract, then he could get rid of him without hurting the team too bad. Then Jerry Jones will have his new stadium, new team and be a richer man.

So when the Cowboys are signing new players remember, it is just "sports" entering the political arena, which is never good. What Jerry Jones is doing is changing the face of sports forever and for the worse!

Politics were never meant to enter the sports arena, but then again it is everywhere, what can we do about it?
