Trespasser uses computer for pornography
Former student caught red-handed at 4 a.m.

by Jason Boyd
Assistant editor

A man was caught masturbating while downloading pornography on a computer in F201 at 4 a.m. on March 4.

The man, 29-year-old Corrick Lakeith Brown, was arrested but released on bail for $500. No formal charges have been filed by the District Attorney, and no court date has been set.

Brown has a criminal record. He was convicted in 1994 for theft, and he received 12 months probation and a $1,200 fine. Brown's probation was revoked, however, due to parole violations, and he served 30 days in jail.

In 1999, he was arrested for marijuana possession. He pled guilty and received six months probation. He violated that probation as well and served 90 days in jail.

This wasn't his first arrest on campus, either. "We've been dealing with this guy about two to three years," Lt. Ray Hill said. Two times they've arrested him on mental health warrants.

He had already downloaded this pornography on eight 3.5 inch floppy disks, starting at 9:30 p.m. the night before.

Hill referred to the pornography as some of the sickest pornography he's ever seen.

Brown's breath smelled of liquor, he was smoking, and his profile fits the description of someone who has been reported as urinating in campus trash cans, Hill said.

The police found the man during an exercise done to prepare for a possible armed stand-off situation. They entered the classroom assuming it was empty, when they reportedly found Brown in the act.

Brown gained access to the computer, which was in the classroom for instructor use, because the door was unlocked, Hill said.

According to Hill, F201's door was unlocked because it is the policy of the campus police to leave the classrooms unlocked, because students need to have access to their morning classes.
