Professor

Mathematics

This one time Piper Professor, who once took a sabbatical to research the historical significance of Wilhelm Leibniz and Sir Isaac Newton attempts to occupy Number 10 and Number 11 Downing Street has a life long passion for wrestling. Yes, wrestling!!! It has been one of his favorite pastimes, since childhood. He can tell you anything you want to know about wrestling. So what if all the body blows and punches are fake! And, in college, he played football.

There are new and old maps adorning his office walls showing all his world travels; another passion. His sense of humor is infectious and his sense of prose arresting. I recently received an e-mail from a former female student of his, from the early '70's. She said that she and all the female students thought he was such a hunk. They just loved to sit in his class, drooling over this young professor, said to have the physique of a Greek god. That student, now 25 years later, works here as an employee. Her name is withheld. Above all, his love of teaching, what can be a difficult subject, in a way that captures his students spirits is unparalleled.
