Pleasant Grove Campus FAQ

  • When will the Pleasant Grove Campus (PGC) be completed?  The PGC construction time line is set for completion in May 2009, the opening of the campus is scheduled for mid August in time for fall 2009 class registrations.
     
  • Where is the Pleasant Grove Campus located?  The PGC is 10 miles south of the Eastfield College main campus in the southeast sector of Dallas, nestled in between Lake June Road and Elam Road on Buckner Blvd.  The address is 802 S. Buckner, Dallas, Texas, 75217.
     
  • What is the purpose of the Pleasant Grove Campus?  The PGC is a satellite campus designed to provide easy college access for the Pleasant Grove neighborhood.  The PGC will create student access from the Pleasant Grove neighborhood to Eastfield College and/or other DCCCD colleges.
     
  • What type of classes will be offered at the Pleasant Grove Campus?  The PGC will offer a variety of programs and classes at the introductory levels ranging from college credit, dual credit, and developmental studies; to English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), GED, Continuing Education, and/or business training.
     
  • Why did Eastfield College decide to open up the Pleasant Grove Campus?  The PGC is part of the 2004 DCCCD Bond package to open 5 community campuses.  The PGC will provide college opportunities to a neighborhood of over 148,000 people.  The Eastfield College will be the first institution of higher learning serving the southeast sector of Dallas.
     
  • How big is the Pleasant Grove Campus?  The PGC is a 45, 000 square feet facility that will feature
    • 10 smart technology classrooms
    • 4 state of the art computer labs
    • 1 electronically driven library
    • 1 testing/learning center
    • 1 community room equipped with a kitchen (the community room is a free room made available to organizations and members of the Pleasant Grove community for social and public service even
