Research coordinator Dr. Jennifer Baggett transported the TM-1000 portable scanning electron microscope to North Mesquite High School on October 17, 2007.

The high school students had a great time learning about electron microscopy and testing samples they had collected from sources like cosmetics, food, insects, hair, etc.

The goal of this learning demonstration was to introduce these seniors to the TM-1000 so that they could design their own science projects using the scientific method to address questions that they have about the world around them.

As a follow up, these students are expected to design and implement their own experiments by traveling to the Eastfield campus on several occasions to use the TM-1000.
