2007 Big Thicket Scholars

The following students became part of a very special group that took part in an innovative experiment
that allows community college students to actively participate in basic science research programs early in their academic careers.
The goal of this project is for students to become involved in ongoing scientific research work.

Eastfield College participants work with the National Park Service and others as they conduct the
All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory (ATBI) of the Big Thicket National Preserve, which is located in the southeastern part of Texas.

We assist them in collecting data for future use for national strategic planning
related to environmental problems such as global warming.
