Bob Flickner came to Eastfield College in 1975 to serve as the basketball coach, tennis coach and Instructor in Physical Education. Prior to coming to Eastfield he had taught and coached at Andover High School, the University of Kansas, and Bethel College. Coach Flickner has a B.S. degree from Bethel College and a MS degree from the Univ. of Kansas.

From 1991 to 2005, Coach Flickner also served as Director of Athletics and Physical Education Chair. During his tenure as basketball coach, Eastfield won over 400 games, won 16 Metro Athletic Conference Championships, had 12 NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) All-Americans, and competed in the NJCAA National Tournament every year except one since 1986. Eastfield won the National Championship in 1997. In 1998, he gave up coaching basketball to devote more time to his other duties.

Coach Flickner enjoys hiking, biking, golfing and most of all spending time with his family.
