Professor Sharp is an enthusiastic and personable instructor who relates history to students' lives and current events. Historical figures and issues come to life through lively, provocative lectures and interaction with students. Instructor seeks to know each student’s name, concerns, and professional goals. History is presented as a course on life and students become increasingly aware that they are writing their personal history on a daily basis. Students are encouraged to form study groups for exams.
Professor Sharp taught at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and was Head Resident Counselor at Purdue University before coming to Eastfield College in 1970. He is the recipient of numerous teaching awards.
After spending the first 22 years of his life in Spokane, Washington, Bob married a West Texas girl who loved Dallas and SMU (Southern Methodist University). Carol and Bob love people, sports, reading, travel, and spiritual activities. Bob also recruits and counsels for Southern Methodist University.
