  • Served with the Police Department of Killeen from 1977 to 1992, where he worked as a patrol officer, as an investigator in the Crimes Against Persons Division, in the Internal Affairs Unit and in the Training Division, where he served as police academy coordinator and as a patrol supervisor
  • Has also served at Del Mar College as the director of specialized law enforcement training for the Coastal Bend Council of Governments Regional Police Academy
