For 10 years, he worked for Locke Supply Co., supplying HVAC products for contractors with more than 160 stores in the central U.S. including Texas, in his last position serving as branch manager of the company’s Plano location. As branch manager, it was his responsibility to have extensive knowledge of operation, installation and servicing of HVAC products in order to train a large customer base of contractors and employees.
He was heavily involved in training the contractors on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Standard laws. He was also selected to serve as a Texas state regional service representative for Locke and Allied Air, where he did extensive troubleshooting, increased sales and was responsible for branch operations and managing associates. From his second year as manager until he left the company in 2016 to become a teacher at DCCCD, Calvin maintained the top Texas HVAC branch in sales and was always ranked in the top 25 annually in sales companywide.
He owns and operates Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technologies (ACRT) and has donated funds to the Eastfield Digital Media Club who designed his company logo.
Certifications include Texas Air Conditioning Contractor License (TACL), Environmental Protection Agency Certification (EPA), Allied Air District Service Representative (DSR), and NATE/ICE Certification. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for students of two-year colleges.
