The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology program at Eastfield will prepare you for a wide range of career opportunities. Our faculty draw on their knowledge and experience to ensure student success.
State-of-the-art labs contain electrical heaters, gas heaters and heat pumps, as well as air conditioners, with efficiency ratings ranging from the lowest to the highest for maximum experience. Major brand names include Ruud, Trane/American Standard, Carrier, Lennox and Coleman. We also include training in servicing solar- and thermal-powered heat pumps.
Cooperative work experience can help qualified students combine college credit with experience in their chosen field. All students earning an associate degree must take the Industry Competency Exam.
Eastfield is a member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, the largest air-conditioning organization in the U.S. This membership gives students access to contractors in the North Texas region and provides an opportunity for direct contact with successful businesses in our area.
