Our Mission

The mission of the STEM Academic and Student Success Center (SASS Center), is to support students that are pursuing an educational career in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). The SASS center aims to support Eastfield College STEM students and faculty to achieve academic success.

Our Services

The SASS CENTER provides STEM Students with various academic and student success services and opportunities for participation, such as: 

  • Career-Integrated Academic Advising
    • Schedule your appointment to see an academic advisor.
  • TSI-Prep Boot Camps
  • Supplemental Instructors
    • Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a series of FREE, voluntary based weekly study sessions for students taking historically difficult courses. For more info, please contact Dr. Paula Guidry
  • State-of-the-Art Equipment and Facilities for Lab Instruction
  • Student Field Research
  • Participation at Academic Conferences
    • STEM students have the opportunity to participate in various different Academic Conferences, such as Scholar’s Day.
  • Transfer Advising and Assistance
    • The SASS Center’s Academic Advisors and Transfer Coordinator can assist STEM students in their transfer process, come see an academic advisor in the SASS Center for more information on transferring to a university. Learn more information here.
