Learning Objectives — Students will learn the following: How to navigate eCampus from the DCCCD homepage.
Select eCampus or select the address box and enter http://ecampus.dcccd.edu.
Note: For future reference bookmark http://ecampus.dcccd.edu.
No other pages within eCampus should be bookmarked. Select the link to the desired eCampus server.
Type in your username.
Your username is your seven digit student ID preceded by an "e" (for example e7654321).
Note: The password will be the same as your username the first time you log into ecampus.
Your Password. Select Login.
This is your My DCCCD/eCampus page.
Select My Blackboard by clicking on the name or the drop-down arrow.
Information about the course and assignments can also be found in My Blackboard.
Because My Blackboard always remains available, students can always access other important information, such as: Posts, for all posts you participate within eCampus; My Grades, for all posted grades; Settings, to change contact information and passwords.
Updates list notifications that alert you to important events and information in all your courses.
My Calendar displays course and personal dates.
My Blackboard also provides a social community for eCampus.
Students can edit their identity and interact with other eCampus users with the following: Profile, to present yourself in eCampus; Peoples, to find and interact with other eCampus members.
Although Notifications also posts the number of new alerts,
My Blackboard automatically recalculates when you check the new alerts.
You can access parts of the course with My Blackboard or choose visit the course.
To return to eCampus, first select the My Blackboard link.
Next, select the home icon.
Your courses are also available from the Courses tab.
Your courses are also listed under My Courses.
Select the desired course. The default course entry is the Home Page.
Note: This default course entry is the Getting Started.
Some courses may display Announcements as the course entry page.
(See the next slide for an example of a course having Announcements as the entry page.)

Course Menu: Select a Content Area link (or a button) in the Course Menu to view the link's (or a button's) contents.
Announcements: Select an Announcements title to view the Announcements Page.
Select the Home Icon to return to the Home Page.
Content Areas: Select a Content Area to view Course Content.
In this example, the Course Content is organized in folders.
Select the folders name (for example week one) to view the contents of the folder.
This icon (that is, a sheet, a pencil and a ruler) represents an Assignment.
To view an assignment, select the assignment link (for example Assignment 1).
Once you open up the assignment, you will be able to: read the assignment instructions (and when your assignment is ready); attach your assignment and any desired comments and submit them. Select the assignment link.
If the instructor attached the instructions in a file, select the file name to view the instructions.
To attach your assignment, scroll down and select Browse My Computer.
Select the file.
If desired, enter a new name for the Link Title. Select Submit.
Your assignment is now uploaded and ready for grading.
Discussion Board: To view a Discussion Board Forum, select Discussions.
Hide the Main Course Panel, if desired. Select the desired Forum.
There are two Discussion Board thread views: List View and Tree View.
Select your preferred view. In this example, the List View is being used.
One can view a Thread by: selecting the desired Thread's name or by selecting a Thread's check box and using the Collect tool.
If you select a Thread by name, the posts will appear as shown.
To read and reply to a post, select a post and select Reply or Quote.
If Quote is selected, the Reply will contain the selected post's text.
Scroll down and select OK to return to the Forum's Thread page.
In this example, the Collect tool will be used to view all the posting belonging to the selected Thread. Select the check box next to the desired Thread.
Select Collect. All the posting for the selected Thread are shown.
Postings can be sorted: Descending or Ascending order.
To Filter the posting, select Filter.
Postings can be filtered by Author, Status, Read Status, Tags.
In this example, we are filtering the posting by Author by selecting: The Author drop-down box, the desired Author/Student, Go.
Note: Do not select OK at the bottom of the page, because it will take you back to the Forum.
By scrolling down, we can now see all the selected Author/Student's posting for this Thread.
To reply to a student's posting, scroll down to the desired post and select Reply or Quote.
My Grades: Inside the course you can view My Grades from: Course Menu My Grades (if provided); Course Menu Tools (My Grades).
