Get Admitted

Complete the application online to be a current student at EFC: https://alt.eastfieldcollege.edu/ari/index

If you are returning to Eastfield and you’ve been out more than a year, submit this application to update your information and make your EFC account

Your DD214, service member 4, will be required in Admissions and/or in Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS)

Apply for Military Educational Benefits

Federal Benefits (Chapter 33, 31 30, 1606, 1607): Complete the online application at 

https://www.vets.gov/education/apply-for-education-benefits/application/1990/introduction

Allow 2-6 weeks to receive the Certificate of Eligibility (COE).

Attend CEVSS New Student Orientation

Newly admitted student veterans should attend one of these sessions to discuss next steps in enrollment and learn how to activate (certify) your enrollment for benefits. To sign up, call CEVSS 972.860.7340.

Submit transcripts

Submit transcripts from high school, previous schools, and Military Joint Services Transcripts to Admissions. Note: transcripts will not be evaluated until student is enrolled and has attended classes past the census date (12th class day).

Take placement tests

Veteran: The Texas State legislatures allows veterans to have a waiver from taking the TSI (placement) tests. TSI scores will be required for any math, reading or writing developmental courses (DMAT, DIRW). Dependent: Please pick up a test referral form from CEVSS.

Develop an Educational Plan with a CEVSS Advisor

Discuss career and transfer options. Align your chosen Program of Study with your career and educational goals. Review information here: https://www.dcccd.edu/CD/DCC/Pages/default.aspx Choose via eConnect.

If your Program of Study is offered in the Career Technology (CT) or Education fields, you will be advised in that department.

Register for Classes and Make Payment Plans

Course Schedule Class information is available via the school’s website (https://alt.eastfieldcollege.edu/cdi/) and your eConnect account.

If you are unable to register yourself via eConnect, please build your class schedule in eConnect, print it, and bring it to an advisor in CEVSS who will register you for classes.

Be sure to determine if EFC requires payment for the classes at the time of registration.

Submit the Eastfield Certification Request Form

Submit your signed EFC Certification request form to CEVSS as soon as you register for courses. 4veteranaffairs@dcccd.edu or fax to 972.860.8340. This is required in order to activate educational benefit funds.

Get Your Books and Supplies

Be prepared to purchase books and supplies. Know your benefit type since not all receive supplies from the VA.

Print your Student Class Schedule

Your schedule can be found in your eConnect account. It provides the location, meeting dates and times of your classes along with the refund and withdrawal deadlines.
