Here’s How You Set Up Your New Password

This article appeared in the Aug. 28, 2018, issue of the student newsletter.

By now, you've probably heard about the new password policy. The quick version: You'll no longer have to reset your password. You're good to go with your single sign-in now.

Here's what you need to do to get to that "good to go" point.

  1. Know Your DCCCD Username: This one is pretty self-explanatory. Yours will look something like this:
  2. Remember (or Recover) Your Old Password: If you've forgotten your password, we've got you covered here.
  3. Spice Up the Password: Complexity can be a good thing sometimes. Among those times are when you're trying to come up with a secure password. Follow the guidelines, and you're that much closer to "good to go!"
  4. Enroll in Self-Service Password Reset: So this isn't a day at the beach, but you've got to do it. Knock it out, and you won't have to deal with it again. Log in with your DCCCD credentials, and take a few minutes to get this one out of the way.
  5. Want to Change Your New Password?: You've dealt with changing your password before, and as a bonus, this will be the last time you ever have to do it (for DCCCD, at least).
  6. What Does All This Get You?: These are all the DCCCD services you'll be able to sign in to with your new single sign-in password. Look at how long that list is!

Simple enough, right? If not, here's a helpful infographic to walk you through the process:
